Migraine Awareness Month #3: Just shoot me now!

Migraine Awareness Month #3:   Just shoot me now! What's your worst Migraine trigger? Can you avoid it? How do you handle it?

Worst trigger? Wow, there are so many....cigarette smoke, loud noise, bright lights, flashing lights, hormones, weather, heat, dehydration, hunger, lack of sleep, too much sleep, overstimulation, stress, drinking too much, perfume, air fresheners, scented candles, too much computer time...I could go on indefinitely! Sometimes I feel like life itself is just a big trigger.

My two worst have to be hormones and weather changes. Changes in my monthly cycle wreak havoc with my head as do weather changes. The weather can change from nice to rainy or vice versa, but either can trigger a migraine. If hormones and weather changes happen at the same time, it's a synergistic  trigger convergence nightmare! Just shoot me.

  1. Migraines sound ungodly nasty to me.

  2. WELL...that JUST SUX! BIG TIME!
    From me to you (((hugs)))Pat

  3. I have no trigger that I can point to they just come out of no where, often I will wake with one and that sucks.........Years ago ofthe they would come around that time of the month but not anymore as I know longer have a that time of the they just come without warning..

  4. Luckily I have never had a migraine but i have a girlfriend who suffers terribly with them usually hormone related.

  5. Pat sent me here.
I had no idea it was migraine awareness month... I guess you could say I wasn't aware! Ha.

    Number 1 trigger?
MSG. MSG. MSG. Except now that I try really, really hard to avoid it, it's hormones.

Every damn month, I have a migraine. Went to bed with one last night, in fact. Took Sumatriptan and a narcotic chaser. Felt almost human this morning until it came back about 7 AM. It will do that until tomorrow morning, when the 4th dose of migraine medication will finally kick its butt for another month.

Unless I get MSG in something. And they hide it in all sorts of foods.

Rant with me. Come on, you know you want to!
